The DART Logistics Support Team, during an emergency that requires the activation of the Emergency Operations Center or the deployment of DART, is responsible for the coordination of efforts of the following activities:

The command center for supply distribution will be operated from the Supply Support facility. Currently there are provisions for the manual distribution of emergency Standby Stock and a procurement process in place to obtain additional material and supplies in the case of a disaster and/or emergency.
In the event of a disaster, the Logistics Branch has over 80 vehicles at its immediate disposal plus more than 240 additional vehicles currently assigned to other codes that could be readily retrieved to assist logistical efforts. There is over 150 Special Purpose Motorize Equipment (SPME) that are readily available for use as well. There are 2 locations to service the Center's needs of vehicle fuel distribution.
The Logistical Shipping and Receiving Section has the responsibility for the transportation of freight and personnel (including casualties) within the Moffett complex or designated work area(s). These responsibilities can be accomplished with both Logistical personnel and/or private carriers.
For emergency storage and staging purposes, the Supply Support Facility and/or the lot adjacent will serve as the primary area for logistical emergency response applications.
It is the Logistic Branch's responsibility to pre-position and have available at all time a minimum of twenty (20) boxes of C-Rations (240 individual meals) in the Stock Room of the Supply Support Facility. In the event of expanding provision and care requirements the Logistics Branch has the authority to coordinate additional support from the NASA Exchange Counsel.
Additionally, the Logistic Branch will coordinate efforts to supply internal support from various organizations, i.e., Security, Communication and Acquisition Branches as well as with outside Carriers, Vendors and/or Fuel Suppliers. It will be Logistics' responsibility to solicit, if necessary, the support and services from Resident Agency organizations such as the Army, Air National Guard, FEMA as well as local government.
